A Wedding in Hamburg

A Wedding in Hamburg

Our girl is getting married!  We are so excited to be here and able to celebrate with Patricia & Justin!

Yes, we have a daughter that lives in Germany… I used to say “with her other family” but in truth, I feel like the Plenikowski’s are part of our family! They were gracious and shared Patricia with us for a year back in 2008. She came to us by way of a student exchange program. For whatever reason Gavin wanted a big sister, and she truly is that!  Patricia fit in almost from the start. Bless her, she has been putting up with us since!

And now, 15 years later we are here in Hamburg to celebrate her wedding to Justin. They are such a sweet couple. You can see how much they love one another. Even though I didn’t understand a lot of what was said, I teared up several times during both the ceremony and the “wedding party” or what we would call reception.  I understood a lot of her sister, Hannah’s speech by the emotions that were apparent!  Yes, I cried crocodile tears and didn’t understand a word!!

I have tried to learn a little German through the years. Knowing words versus speaking and actually understanding is a whole different ballgame!! But the truth is… Love, Honor, Gratitude are all given and understood with more than words.
1 Corinthians 16:14 tells us to do everything with love in our heart. We were sure loved on while in Hamburg.  Looking forward to more memories with our German Family!

I saw a quote that sums up how I’m feeling right now… “Kindness is free, so sprinkle that stuff everywhere!”
